RBC Pathway to Peers

This partnership places a Peer Support Worker trained by Stella’s Place into the emergency department at Mount Sinai Hospital. The Peer Support Workers are able to offer help from a place of understanding for young people coming into emergency in distress.

The Peer Support Worker helps young adults gain access to vital community resources. They also provide coping strategies for dealing with the stress of the emergency department and helps them to feel less alone.

[The RBC Pathway to Peers Program] is a wonderful example of an academic Health Science center partnering with a community partner to provide service to a pressing need within the community that neither one really can help address on their own.
